Stop Violence Against Prostitutes – Implement SF Task Force Recommendations
Stop Violence Against Prostitutes
Implement SF Task Force Recommendations on Prostitution
I support the City of SF Task Force on Prostitution recommendations and the “Mitigating Violence against Prostitutes” resolution passed in 2000 by the Board of Supervisors, aimed at implementing such recommendations, by calling on the city of San Francisco to actively enforce laws against rape and other violence against sex workers, and for the money (approx. $7.6 million each year) spent harassing and jailing prostitutes to be used instead to provide resources and services.

US PROStitutes Collective (US PROS) played a key role on the Task Force by ensuring that the situation of women working on the street was not ignored and in winning the final recommendation to end the criminalization of sex workers. Contact US PROS if you would like to further support this effort and/or to find out more. Please be sure to include the contact info below when you copy, post on your website and in other ways distribute this petition.
