Film: WHERE IS THE JUSTICE? – Sex Work in Hungary (40 minutes).
Discussion with: Boglárka Fedorkó
Activist and project manager with five years experience in the civil sector and a unique combination of interests, experiences and qualifications. She is an archaeologist and economist by training, who is passionate about human rights. She has been active in diverse fields, such as international education inclusion projects, Roma rights advocacy and sex worker empowerment. She is managing projects at the Association of Hungarian Sex Workers, mainly aiming to empower sex workers to speak up against human rights abuses.
Boglarka will present the organisation’s recent international advocacy victory from 2013.
SZEXE’s submission of a shadow report to the UN CEDAW Committee made a historical advance: it contributed respectively to one of the first instances of recognition of sexual rights by the CEDAW committee and the first recognition of “sex workers’ right to safe working conditions” and freedom from discrimination. In addition, she will highlight key rights violations in Hungary based on the shadow report
