The English Collective of Prostitutes (ECP) is approached daily by students, researchers, playwrights, photographers, trainee journalists, etc. for help with their projects and to learn more about sex work and the ECP. We are glad to help and over the years have had input into many a PhD, project, academic presentation and theatre piece. We often find it productive and in some cases we form long standing working relationships.
But inevitably this work puts a strain on our limited resources as a grassroots organisation which relies on volunteers to do much of its work. So instead of people coming to meet us one-by-one, we are now running workshops of two hours for small groups which would consist of a short presentation by one of our members followed by a Q&A session where people can ask questions to get input from us into your particular project. We charge £25 per person for this but if your university or college is helping cover the cost or you are getting funding for your research we ask that you please consider a further donation of £50 as a contribution to our crucial service and campaigning work. If you cannot afford £25 please get in touch as there may be other ways you can support our work.
The workshop can be audio taped but not filmed/ photographed. If you can’t make it to our Women’s Centre in North London, you’re welcome to join via Skype.
The next workshop is on Monday 13 January at 3pm.
